1973 AMC Javelin

I love AMC's, especially the 71-74 Javelins and AMXs. I had been looking for another ever since I sold the ones I had (see below) years ago. Although I would have preferred a Javelin AMX, this Javelin was too nice to pass up plus it had a lot of nice items I wanted. Thanks to Shawn for selling it to me, I know you'll miss it but it went to a good home.

These are pictures of how the Javelin looks now after the new body and engine work. The new cowl hood really makes a big difference along with the elimination of the door guard and pin stripes. Painting the front and rear spoilers and the factory 15x7 wheels help too.
After   Before

What a difference the factory wheels make

The painted front spoiler really stands out now
I hated those pinstripes and engine stickers. That old air cleaner and bobble-head mirror had to go
71-74 Javelins were made to have the rear spoiler and painting mine gave it the lines it was meant to have
I added a factory 71 duel snorkel cowl induction air cleaner. I have more plans for the engine returning it to a more stock look
The cowl induction hood really compliments the fender bulges.
Except for a factory 3 spoke steering wheel, I left the interior factory stock

My other AMC's

This was my 1983 CJ-5 I just sold. It was the last year of the CJ-5s, has a 258 6cyl, pretty stock. Great vehicle but just needed too much work which I wasn't prepared to do. I sold it over the internet to a military man who will ship it overseas. Luckily, he will restore it and give it the attention it deserves.

UPDATE! The Gentleman I sold it to recently sent me pictures of the restoration job and it looks better than brand new! Good Job Pete!

This was my 1974 Javelin AMX. I bought it in stock condition in 1978. It had all options except a 401. I painted it, added Western wheels, rebuilt the 360, headers, Holley, Competition Cam, Zemco drive computer, shift kit, plus many NOS items. I sold it around 1985. A year later, my wife and I were at a Drive-in when the guy (punk) I sold it to pulled up next to us, The car was trashed, it had been wrecked and pot was rolling out the windows. We pulled away in disgust, I never saw it again. VIN was A4C798P170346 in case anyone sees it, let me know
UPDATE! I found the fate of this Javelin, although sad, The punk I sold it to had sold it to a nice gentleman I met at an AMC show. Turns out the car was rusted very bad, he stripped it, pulled the motor and had it crushed. He still has the motor and parts today.

This was my 1973 Pierre Cardin Javelin AMX. I bought it when I had the silver AMX and sold it first. I spotted it at a store and convinced the guy to sell it to me for $400! I spent $100 cleaning it up then turned around and sold it for $1600. It was pretty much a stock AMX, 360 2v, no air, auto but it cleaned up real nice. I never saw it again after I sold it. VIN was A3C798N217644 in case anyone sees it, let me know.
