I'm an avid Archery/Bow collector. The simplistic beauty of a recurve or longbow is something anyone can appreciate whether your an archer or not. I collect anything that has to do with archery but I specialize in Bear grayling bows, 1960's and 1970's era takedown target bows and metal bows.
After finding no similar sites on the internet, I decided to make my own. This site was designed so other collectors could get together with each other and finding information to help us enjoy our hobby more. To fully educate yourself, read all sections on this site. I have tried to collect all the information I could for the collector.
READ THIS!
I get lots of email from this site and I really enjoy reading all the mail however, about 90% of the emails are people asking me the value of their bow. You can save yourself time and educate yourself as well if you read the sections "What is my bow worth" and "Grading the condition of bows". There are alot of great tips there. If your bow is a Bear, read all the Collecting Articles, even if it isn't, read them anyway. They were written by gentlemen with a vast experience on the subjects and most of your questions can be answered there. If you email me asking the value of your bow, I probably wont answer you, the simple fact is I cant accurately give you one, everything I know has been put in the section I wrote "What is my bow worth". Another sad fact is a lot of the emails of people asking me values are vendors wanting to sell them on Ebay or the such. I did add a Price Guide based on past ebay sales.

| My good friend, Gene Hopkins has a
new web site for the archery collecting, aptly named,
www.archerycollecting.com Gene and I were the first web sites devoted to
Archery Collecting. Be sure to check it out, lots of good info there. If you haven't done so already, you need to buy the "Bear Archery Catalogs on CD" Even if you don't collect Bear bows, this CD is a wonderful insight to the bows of the day. And of course if you are interested in Bear bows, this CD is invaluable for dating and learning about Bear bows, highly recommended. I updated 3 links in my Links section |
