Snook

I love to catch Snook. They are difficult to figure out. Most of how I catch them is the same for Redfish. Fresh shiners, a good tide and deep in the mangroves will pull em out but not as consistent as I do Reds. I've had decent luck on mirror lures around deep holes and oyster bars. I've even sight fished to them in the flats. Lately I catch most in CC canals using bucktails, rattletraps, mirrorlures and softbaits.

This 44" monster took a white bucktail jig under a Cape Coral bridge. The fish was revived and released

My 5th monster snook, just over 43 inches and she weighed more than the 44" one I caught. 8/23/09

Another monster, 42" and again on a Rattletrap. I spotted this girl slumbering under a bush, the cast had to be perfect and it was. My 4th snook over 40".  Thanks Jim for your help! 4/18/09

A nice early morning 35" snook which took a white bucktail. Locals will recognize this weir
