Happy Birthday to us...
Some of you new guys may not know this but The Crew turns 4 years old this year.  Yes that's right 4 years old.  I don't know what is gonna happen here but if you want to bake a cake and sing happy birthday go ahead I won't stop ya.

On another note we are still kicking around ideas for a LAN Blast, a scaled down version perhaps.  I think it could take place late July if we get planning.  So I guess stay tuned and we'll see how it goes.   Anyone who would come from out of town should know that this would be not the type of event we have had in the past unless something incredible happens.  Like I said stay tuned we should have some idea of what we are doing soon..

Something new...Part 2...
Yes I know.... who is this Jazzman-X guy right? Well I have been gone from the FPS for a while due to an  evil called Everquest. I am close to kicking habit some so I have been playing more lately. I downloaded the CS mod that Freezer recommend and it is a lot of fun. I have been playing it the last 3 or 4 days a little when I can. I would also recommend to any of you that have Half-Life to get it.

I have been playing on 2 servers the last few days. If you have it try to stop in and say hi.

I saw Rav's server once then tried to find it like 4 or 5 other times and never see it up. Anyway the game is a lot of fun and if you like AQ then you will like this. Its like the same thing just a little more of a mission to the maps instead of just killing. (although on some maps people just ignore mission objectives and kill, hehe) This mod has definitely got me hyped for Team Fortress 2 when it comes out in about 5 years.

Something new...
I was recently shown something interesting as hell.  Severe from the clan {RAV} told me to try Counterstrike for Half-Life.   Since I tried it before and thought hey this is kinda dumb (left handed weapons only and stupid stuff like that) I was kinda skeptical to even look at the damn thing.   So after some more prodding by Severe (thanks man that sharp stick in the eye really worked) I gave into the 43.5MB download and loaded it up. 

I have changed my mind about CS it has been polished beyond what I first saw and damn it was fun.  It truly is a team game as each map has an objective that must be reached.  The movements of the players and the realism of it are just too damned cool to talk about, its one of those things where seeing is believing.  I recommend to anyone that has Half Life to go download this and try it out.  Severe has a server running at 12.1.228.165:27015 for all you Gamespy junkies out there, or just look in the Half Life server browser for RAV CounterStrike 6.1c server.   So go check it out.

For all of you who MIGHT care...
Anyone waiting for Daikatana can take a breath now.  Its done and off to manufacturing.  As I never played the demo nor did I have the desire to I truly can't say I am going to run to the store and grab it.   The Quake2 engine is a dead duck as far as I am concerned this game should have been out a LONG time ago so it could have stood a chance, but maybe I am wrong.  I bet if it doesn't do well ION Storm will close..hehe

Servers and other stuff...
I know some of you who notice such things probably see the quake servers are down today.  I have no explaination for this but will hopefully know a ittle more about them soon.  Recently i have heard all sorts of crap about the Action server lagging and all that crap and have even heard some interesting things about how it can be fixed.  I am truly open minded about them, but the simple fact of WHY is quite obvious to anyone who knows what machine the server runs on.  Nothing will clear up the lag on that machine 100%, no restart, no nothing.   The server is VERY low on resources from what I have been told so if you are on the server DEAL with it as it won't go away by itself.  I have been working with Interline to remedy the situation and have heard some promising news, a few of you know some of the news but not all, but I will not divulge any information at this time until what I know is finalized.

You should all be thankful that Interline provides us with a machine and space on that machine to run our Quake 2 servers you should be thankful of all the hard work we have done to insure that the servers are fun and enjoyable to the community.  I don't appreaciate people saying the server sucks or trying to tell me what they think the problem is.  Unless you know first hand what the problem is do assume you know.   I have heard some pretty stupid comments about it lately and usually laugh my ass off at all of them.  So be patient as I will hopefully have some answers soon and maybe a surprize or two in store for ya.

Freezer Action Quake?
I know what the hell am I saying?, well nothing as of yet other than I have been screwing around with the Action Quake source code and have added a few things and changed the way things are in it to give it a more "classic" feel as well as a new feel to it.  I have no plan on releasing it yet but from what I have done and seen how it works it sure is fun to see the new little gadjets I added.  If we ever get to have another LAN BLAST maybe it will make its debut there.  If not it will rot on my HD forever..

Resurgence pt 2...
Hi people. just wanted to make a few announcements, one is welcome another former [6e9] clan member to our family, Maveric has joined our ranks to help bolster our Action Crew out. 

Speaking of Action, I know Black and Kakarotto have a 2 on 2 OGL team going and today Skream told me him and Antimatter will be having a 2 on 2 OGl team as well.  We have yet to discuss the OGL as a 4 on 4/5 on 5 team yet but it is in the plan. 

Today the wrecking ball hit the roster and moved down some names, six to be exact, to make room for new people and add an old one i forgot to add months ago OOPS.  So if your name is under MIA, Retirees, and Q1 players and you are playing let me know, I'd hate to declare a living individual dead.

Resurgence...
Well the last few weeks has brought about a resergence in the clan activity.  Most of the activity has been on the side of the Action Quake 2 players.  We have seen the likes of Psycosis, Skream, Hellraiza and even Frag God decided to grace the servers with his presence.  Also the last week has seen a new addition to the clan as we might be gearing up to take on the OGL once more in the AQ2 area.  So Welcome Splink formerly of 6e9 which dissolved this past week a sad thing to hear about indeed.  Anyone who was part of the original Action Quake teams know what our history with 6e9 is and if you don't look in the side bar and read the match results and you'll get the picture.  So we do wish Blake and all the rest of 6e9 good luck in their endeavors and do hope to see them around the server community.

Nothing has been planned yet so don't go jumping on the email and sending us anything about the OGL deal yet.  It has to be discussed is all I am saying.  So stay tuned if you are interested.  I know i would like to see more of the CTF gang around and i know of a few others who feel the same way.  the CTF server is still located at 207.30.96.66 and is still running Lithium II CTF with a few tweaks to make it a little more insane but fun so check that out as well.  Ok thats all for now..
