April 30, 1999 - 76 days to LB3

Fond memories...
I went and looked through the LAN BLAST 2 pictures again. Remembering how cool it was. I have talked to a few of you via email and on the phone and everyone is already getting hyped and ready. I think after LB3 we may have to make LB4 come a little sooner. Many people are in pain it seems having to wait so long, hehe. The main reason we decided to do it in July is to let all the guys in school be done with classes and be able to come. This way nobody really has an excuse for missing it. We wanted to give tons of notice and make it during a school break period.

We also had a few of the travelers say they wanted LB3 to be longer to help justify coming the long distance. So that is why it will be 28 hours straight!!! Take that you little girly man. Only the true hardcore maniacs will make it to the end! Just to let everyone in on one little item...part of the plan is to take a break around 7am on the Saturday and everyone go to a 24hr food place (Denny's or Perkins etc.). Or you can go home if your local and do whatever. If your staying with someone or at a hotel or something you could go take a shower, nap whatever and then we will all start back up around 10 or 11am. We should have a place close by where people could lay down for a nap if they just could not stay up.

Getting back to the LB2 memories...if you are still considering whether to come or not make sure you go take a look at these pictures from LB2. When you look at these just think like that but even more people and more contests, prizes, beer (I hope), and more....ummmm....shit,   just more everything dammit!  - Jazzman-X-[12:05 pm EST]

More potential LB3 attendees?
I have been talking with Blake of 6e9 and he says that he and perhaps chewy I believe may come. They are discussing issues of getting here and all but are gonna look at trying to make it. That would be very cool if we could actually get some 6e9 and WC guys all together and party it up. We already have had iwg clan members come so this time we may get both of our favorite sister clan members to show up.

If I hear any more from them I will let you all know.  - Jazzman-X-[10:00 am EST]

Jazz speaks...
When I see Freezer highlighting text in red I know somebody is trespassing into the realm of pain, hehe. Well let me just say a few things and put a slightly different spin on what Freezer and the rest of us are saying so you do not think we are just being assholes.

Setting up a match or even a serious scimmage/practice is not as simple as you may think. We have been doing this clan thing for a long time now and know what we are talking about. You have to put some preparation into setting up a match. I am sure Skube of iwg and Blake of 6e9 would agree with me on some of these points.

To have a successful match or scrimmage you have to prepare for it at least 10 to 14 days in advance. You have to hype it on your site almost on a daily basis and send out at least 1 or 2 clan emails to make sure everyone has the day and time burned into their brain. If you just try to announce a match 3 or 4 days before it is happening you will always have a shitty turnout. I guarantee it.

I know Antimatter was just wanting to get a quick friendly scrimmage going but it just does not work that way (I wish it did). I was not there last night and did not talk to anyone that was but I would be willing to bet we did not have more than 3-4 WC members show up. Now think back to the last match we had with 6e9 that I set up and how many did we have show? Like 7 or 8 if I recall. You have to prepare well in advance in order to make any clan event a success.

So if you talk to someone and want to do a scrimmage or something email me at least a week before it is supposed to happen and I will see what I can do. Or you can email Freezer, Gator or FRaG GoD for that matter. Sorry for all the confusion and I want to say we appreciate members trying to take part in stuff like this just give us a little more notice.

Well, this update is way too long and I apologize. I am going to get in touch with Blake of 6e9 and try to set us up a locked down scrimmage/practice real soon with a match to be scheduled not too far past that. I am thinking maybe not this next Tuesday but the one after that. I will be bombarding you with hype for it once it is confirmed. - Jazzman-X-[10:00 am EST]

April 29, 1999 - 77days to LB3 - 6e9 Scrimmage tonight!

Freezer Annoyed
Well kiddies, I WAS having a good ol' time using the sniper rifle and actually doing quite well with it during the unofficial "scrimmage" tonight until I kept getting the constant rumblings of "PASSWORD THE SERVER" well as I see it directly below we have a little problem comprehending the fact that A.) The server was NEVER getting password protected and B.) people complaining about a fact they already knew where just wasting time and effort saying password the server.  As far as I know none of the [6e9] clan members were saying what they already knew "The server will not be password protected so Just join whenever you can" (in the exact words of the previous news post.)

So, from this point on there will be NO scrimmages set up unless they are put through the appropriate channels (ie, Jazzman-X, Freezer, FRaG GoD, and Gator) if you want to have a little free for all on your own thats fine, just don't expect what won't happen, and don't post it here, find another way to tell people about it. - Freezer -[11:12pm EST]

Scrimmage Tonight!!!
I've got confirmation from (6e9)Inferno that Blake, Exhumist, Nitro, Inferno, and Chewy will try and make it tonight.  The server will not be password protected so Just join whenever you can. We will also be trying out a new applicant "Black".  He's shown a lot of promise from when I've played him, so now we'll see him under pressure hehe.  - AntiMatter-[7:33 pm EST]

More confirmations for LB3!!!
I got confirmations from Cabman and Antimatter that they will also be attending LB3. That brings the total to 16.

Here is the updated list: Jazzman-X, Freezer, Gator, Ripley, FRaG GoD, Zapman, Skube, Cyris, Cyris Friend(lost name, sorry), Masume, @myth, Jundice, Toxoph, T-Rex, Cabman, Antimatter. (16 total)  - Jazzman-X-[7:00 pm EST]

LB3 more info...
I have compiled a short list of info here along with the list of confirmed attendees at this point. Please look the list over and if I have you incorrectly on or not on the list let me know.

LB3 known intel:

  • Location: Naples, FL
  • When: Friday July 16th 8pm thru Saturday July 17th 1159pm
  • What: Hardcore gaming. Quake 3, Quake 2, Half-Life, NFS3.
  • Who: WC, iwg, 6e9?, and a ton of others listed below.

LB3 confirmed killers: Jazzman-X, Freezer, Gator, Ripley, FRaG GoD, Zapman, Skube, Cyris, Cyris Friend(lost name, sorry), Masume, @myth, Jundice, Toxoph, T-Rex. (14 total)

We have about 7-10 other people we just have not confirmed yet. This includes several people who came to LB2 that we just have not had a chance to talk to yet. So if your name is not above do not assume we have you down for coming.  - Jazzman-X-[2:00 pm EST]

April 27, 1999

LB3... some details are coming together...
I have a few tidbits of info involving LB3. We have confirmed the location. It is going to be in Naples FL again about 3 miles away from where we held LB2. I am not going to tell everyone exactly where it is being held because.... well.....its is kinda cool where we are having it and want to save it as a surprise for our hype/marketing executives.

As of right now I have had confirmations of 14 people solid. No shit. Like over 2 months and we have 14 people coming. Plus that doesn't count the 10 or so people we just have not bothered to confirm yet since it is still a little ways off (people who came last time, people who wanted to come last time etc).

Anyway, the point is this baby is gonna be big. So...I will say again...if you even have any thoughts that you are going to come you had better let me know ASAP so I can mark you down a reserved spot. This has many implications including seating, prizes, free gifts and more. So try to let me know.

I will post a list of confirmed people coming in a week or so. I am going to check with Gator who set up the location for LB3 to get a exact estimate (hmm) on the maximum number of players we can fit into the location. Then we will just set a limit and keep taking signups until we run out of room.  - Jazzman-X-[2:00 pm EST]

6e9 Scrimmage clarification..
Alright Alright, so I didn't go through normal clan channels. Geez. Anyway, I meant this to be a show up if you want type of match. I am considering changing it to either the 29th or 30th, Thursday and Friday respectively. But I need to know what you guys think is best.  As I told the 6e9 guys, this is just for fun.  I'm not gonna ask Jazz to password protect the server because the turnout will most likely be small. - AntiMatter-[9:13 PM EST]

Q3Test...on MAC.
I have come to the conclusion that Carmack is not a god anymore. He is just immortal. If we go much longer without a Windows version he may keep slipping down the deity ladder. - Jazzman-X-[7:30 pm EST]

Daily Jazz
I want to apologize again for my lack of updates and playing for the last 2 weeks or so. If you guys knew how much work and family stuff I got going on I am sure you would understand. Hopefully my situation will get better in the next few days and I will be back. I estimate you might see me on the AQ2 server tomorrow night if any of you want to swing in around 9pm EST and wack some punks with the Jazzmeister. Hope to see some of you then. - Jazzman-X-[7:30 pm EST]

Scrimmage with 6e9?????
I am as confused as some of you may be about this scrimmage. I just got an email from Blake of 6e9 asking what's up with the scrimmage? He said he had heard nothing about it. Also Antimatter says it is on Sunday May 1st above. Ummm May 1st is on a Saturday. So which is it? Hell, if I know, hehe.

I will say right now this is totally a come if you can, free practice. We never schedule scrimmages or matches on the weekend. It is just to unfair to ask people who work M-F to commit to playing on the weekends when they are with family, going out, hitting the beach, having sex, doing yard work, having sex, etc.

So if you are going to be available to play this weekend keep checking back for Antimatter to clarify the day, date, time or whatever and try to make it and have some fun with people you know. I will say right now the chance of me being there if it is on Saturday is about 50% and Sunday it is about 5%. - Jazzman-X-[7:30 pm EST]

Q3TEST..FOR MAC??
QUAKE 3 TEST FOR MAC, BEFORE WINDOWS??    GEEZ.. -Freezer-[4:59pm EST]

** Stuff....
I've been talking with Inferno of 6e9, and we have decided to try and get a small scrimmage going between the clans.  Right now the date is set at May 1st around 10:30pm EST. E-mail me if you can make it or if you think a different date should be set.  Oh and I finally added a new pic of the week. WOOHOO!

No No No No No No
Gator didn't post that CTF update, I did.  My computer crashed as I was typing it, and I forgot to go back and fix it again after ScanDisk took its sweet ass time scanning 13 gigs of stuff, while displaying a message telling me to "Make sure I shut down the computer properly next time"  Yeah fuck you too asshole.  "How about handling Alt-Tab without completely self-destructing next time you little shit."  Well anyways, we got the mystery post cleared up.

And I love how any connection between violent action and playing violent games will be investigated immediately by the media.  I'm sure that Doom and Quake caused them to go shoot up their school.  These little cult games have a history of leading to violent acts.  Oh wait, millions of people have played id games for years and never even mowed their lawns, much less mowing down a schoolyard.   But I'd bet money that every single violent offender in the news has watched a lot of TV...

Freezer's Notes..
Well first off I have to say I can't agree more with Jazz about the media blaming things that have no damn bearing on what has happened in Colorado, those kids were sick and nothing that they watched or played caused their killing spree.  I also have a problem with people trying to find something to blame on a kids behavior other than the kid and his or her parents.  The most absurd thing I find in all of this is the fact that they parents in Kentucky have said that porn sites contributed to the killings there.  Um the only thing a porn site will do is cause a person to go into the little boys room and shoot something other than a gun, and far less deadly.  Ok enough with this retarded mess, now on to clan biz..

Since I have heard no negative feedback on this I would like everyone to welcome a new member into the ranks of the Wrecking Crew.  His name is Radking, he normally plays AQ2 but I think I have gotten him to try and like CTF, which helps us out in two ways.  Make sure you all give him the WC welcome the next time you see him on the server.  I will post his important info on the Roster page very shortly.  Like Jazz I am also stunned at the CTF post below, but I think I might have a clue as to who it is which is quite cool that this person is attempting to update this mess, now if we can only get him to post his name like we do..hmmm. - Freezer-[11:59pm EST]

Colorado shootings
I was gonna avoid this subject but after seeing a report on MSNBC that in part points blame towards the 2 killers committing the acts based on they played Doom I was outraged. I cannot believe the media still does this crap. Every time some kid does something bad the first thing they do is blame some video game and TV.

What the hell is wrong with them? They ever think about blaming the freaking parents of the little psychos? Anyway here is a link to page over on Bluesnews that has letters from people that sum it up best. A few are quite humorous. Here it is. BTW I do not know who made the update below. Not me. - Jazzman-X-[3:20 pm EST]

CTF practice with clan Rubicon
We're thinking about having a weekly (biweekly, whatever) CTF practice with clan Rubicon.   They have their own Lithium servers on a fast connection in Maryland.  Email Gator with any thoughts or opinions about whether this is a good idea.

Funny stuff
I felt I had to share this with all of you. I laughed so hard reading this I had to go to the bathroom. Funny stuff: Is Playstation 2 getting enough hype? . The next to last sentence is an all time classic. - Jazzman-X-[10:50 pm EST]

AQ Radio Pack bug!
Well it looks like I have found a bug in the below mention AQ radio pack.  The enemys wav is somehow a stereo file and I'm not sure it even plays right if it plays at all.  The quick fix to this is find a decent wav editor and convert the file to a mono file.  If you can't find a wav editor, email me and I will post the fixed file. - Freezer- [7:08pm EST]

Server Updates!
CTF Server:
The official Lithium 1.24 came out today (We were running 1.24 beta 1). I went ahead and put it on. Th notes on it said this version fixed some bugs that were causing crashes with Q2 3.20. Hopefully we should be cool now. I went ahead and did a small amount of tweaking on the CTF server also. I made the regular machine gun (not chaingun) slightly more powerful. Gives you more reason to use it. Also I am gonna speed up the rate of fire on the regular shotgun to make it like a rapid fire assault shotgun. We will see how it works.

I was thinking of turning on Runes on the CTF server in addition to the regular Techs. Let me know what your guys think. That would add the Vampire, haste etc type effects. Give me any feedback you want.

Action Server: I changed one of the skins on the AQ2 server. I changed the Sydney skin to the Crips skin (actionmale/crip). This makes it a little bit easier to tell who is who. If anyone notices a problem or that I set it up wrong let me know (I cant test it at the server to make sure its right. Also I have been wanting to add some new maps to the rotation but not sure which ones. If any of you have suggestions let me know and I will look at getting them on. - Jazzman-X-[10:10 am EST]

Action Quake Radio Pack
I have had this ready for some time now and just decided to release it to the rest of the clan.  One note before you download this, back up your original files if you ever want to go back to them, I take no responsibility for you losing files.  Now here is the Radio pack.  Enjoy!

PS This is only a male radio pack, I'm still searching out female sounds.  Also I hope you all sent out your taxes to the man today. - Freezer-[10:21pm EST]

******LAN BLAST 3..... OFFICIAL DATE & Location set!!!******
The date is set. As of right this minute LB3 will be held in Naples, FL on Friday July 16th and Saturday July 17th. It will start at 8pm EST on Friday and go through until Midnight on Saturday. 28 hours of Fragging!!!!!! Of course there will be contests, matches, prizes, etc like last time....just better!

We also have it 90% confirmed where we are having it. Gator has a pretty firm agreement on the location we are gonna have LB3. The place has much more room and will allow us to have more people, computers, etc. We will forward details on the location as we get closer. All you need to know right now is it will be in Naples for the 3rd time in a row (We will have it in Fort Myers eventually dammit!, hehe).

I am going to go ahead and start taking names to reserve spots for this event now. We are going to have a very good showing I am sure. People who have heard of LB2 know how cool a LAN event this (if you need reminding click the LB2 button on the left) is and more people want to come now. So.....this means we will have a limit to attendance. As soon as you can find out your coming please let me know. As of right now we know we have room for at least 30. But.... we had about 30-40 people saying they wanted to come after the last one. Of course invitation is open to the following groups: All WC members, all 6e9 members, all iwg members and anyone who came to LB1 or LB2. Anyone else will be considered on a case by case basis by the WC leaders. I will say this though....if you are not in one of those groups you had better let us know ASAP if you want to come before the spots get filled up.

I know it is still a long way off (92 days to be exact) but start telling people that need to know about it now. At your work write it on the time off calendar or request it now, that way you wont be screwed when it gets here. Tell your wife, husband, Mom, Dad, dog, neighbor, proctologist, etc.... now!!! I talked to Masume yesterday and he already requested it off at his work!!! That's the spirit!

We have a lot of planning to do yet...but believe me if you were at LB2 or read about it and thought it sounded cool.....you don't even want to know what we are gonna do for LB3. It is gonna be so badass that if I told you about it you would all volunteer for deep freezing experiments so the time would go by faster between now and then!

Here is the list of people I know are coming already: Jazzman-X, Gator, Ripley, Freezer, Zapman, FRaG GoD, Masume, and @myth. - Jazzman-X-[10:10 am EST]

Immoral...out of action
I got a voicemail on my phone this morning from Immoral saying that he has not been on playing lately because his HD crashed in his computer. He is in the process of getting it fixed but said it may still be a week or so before we see him again.

This is also a deciding factor of when we will play any AQ2 matches because we need Immoral to be there. I don't want to have any excuses of key members not being at the match to screw things up. Immoral is one of our main AQ2 players and we will not have any matches until he is back up and running (if I can help it, hehe).- Jazzman-X-[12:10 pm EST]

Action Quake: Espionage..
I went and looked at the mod variation on AQ2 that Freezer mentioned below, Sounds cool. I will be waiting for his opinion on it to see if we want to try it out on our server or something. I may try it out myself tonight if I get the chance. If any of you have played on servers with it let me know what you think. - Jazzman-X-[12:10 pm EST]

AQ2 Scrimmage with 6e9...
To be honest I have not had the time to talk to Blake about it yet. I think he has been as busy as me. Anyway...I think I will try to get with him on maybe doing it next Tuesday (not tomorrow as we were talking before). As I get any info or news on this I will let you know. - Jazzman-X-[12:10 pm EST]

Daily Jazz...
Hello everyone! Sorry I have not been around much lately. Me and the other 2 NeoReality guys have been real busy the last week or so. We have some major projects and ......things happening (all good). So we have been occupied. I plan to get some gaming in soon. - Jazzman-X-[12:10 pm EST]

Teamfortress Review, Canadian style..
This is just in from (WC)-Canadian, his take on the just released TFC for Half Life and a disturbing warning about someone's ass..

After 3 hrs of downloading time, l was pumped to play TFC as l am a big Half-life fan, from many hours of HL DM.  After finding a server with a decent ping (200) l went into the game not really know that much about orientation of the levels, or map goals.  There is alot of new keys u have to set-up, which was a bit wierd for me as l am just a dm and ctf kinda guy..just the standard mouse and keyboard along with max of 5 others, but for TFC u prolly need about 10 or so? (l may be wrong here). Anyways, after doing all that stuff, l got into the game and was sniping....now this is my favorite thing in the world to do in HL, but the damage is all messed up in TFC u have to snipe a guy about 3 times to kill him or more.  This is something that bugged the shit out of me, even when l was Demolition Boy it took like 4-5 grenades to blow a dood up.  Another thing l didn't like about the game was the missions!  There could be a mission in which one crticial component is not present, ie.  bodygaurds, or assasins.  Now l am not sure about this, but maybe the whole selection of character for that type of mission is wrong, the server should probably pre-select the character and stuff like that.  Also the levels aren't HL dM worthy l feel, although l have only played 3 of them.  All in all, l don't want to type anymore, l was disappointed as a HL fan, and really am excited for TF2 as that seems to be a mix between Tribes and HL.

Teamfortress Classic Review
Well after downloading this all night, that is AFTER I found a server able to slowly leak the file out to me, I have finally played a game of TFC, man was it bad to the bone.  My computer is kinda slow for certain areas and most of the morons on the server had NO clue as to what each levels objectives were, on one level you have to capture command points well we had medics running the command point flags like morons, instead of helping the wounded, DUH!!   Some day I will have the appropriate hardware to run this game like it should but until then I'll enjoy my slow ass machine running this awesome mod.

I tried my hand at a Sniper and a Demo man and the weapons were quite cool, the models however, lacked any real definition to me, the demo man has a pipe bomb launcher which has two modes, one you shoot em and they blow up the other you shoot them and you detonate tham later, I was rocking the world with this weapon, the sad thing about it, is you really can't tell if you have it on detonate, or just plain old shoot em and they blow up mode, or at least I didn't see anything that would distinguish the two.  To be quite honest I felt like I was in this large Deathmatch game as no one was really playing the game like it should have been, me and one guy were sniping pretty much side by side, if he missed I got the kill if i missed he got the kill, that was the only team work I saw all night.

Hey Jazz, how about hooking us up with a server..hehehe  Anyone else have a review of this email me it, I'll be glad to post it for ya.. -  Freezer -[1:24am EST]

Teamfortress Classic is out!
I saw over at Blues that TFC is out for Half-Life. I plan on getting this in the next day or so. If any of you download it please email me so we can hook up together and try it out. I am really interested in seeing it. I have not played Team Fortress since the original Quake version and that was about a billion years ago it seems that I played it last. Anyway, contact me as any of you get it.   - Jazzman-X-[2:10 pm EST]

Server ISSUES!!
Man..... I just found something on our server machine that should help things significantly. As some of you may know already, I had been fighting for HD space on the server for the last 2 months or so. I had been hovering right around 100-140 etc. Well.....this morning I just found some HD space..... 600 mb worth!!!!

Let me just say this.. If any of you are running NT 4 on your system make sure you check your winnt/profiles folders out. Then in these folders look at the temporary internet files folder (this is different then the T.I.F that is under the winnt folder). Somehow it showed 234 mb in one folder in there yet when I would look at the files in it there were only a bunch of cookies. So, I went through and deleted them all. After that it still showed 200 mb in there! So then I went under Explorer and went to the internet options section and selected the "Delete Temporary Internet Files" option (and yes I have done this before, almost every other day). Now (and I think this is the important part) when the next screen comes up there is a small check box asking "Delete all subscription content". Check that box.

After I did that 600 mb mysteriously appeared out of nowhere on my HD. I think somehow some sites I have gone to that gave me cookies are putting updated subscription content on my computer without me knowing about it. I may sound like an idiot here but this shit has totally mystified me. I have not used subscriptions, I do not download that many files on here. I do not fill out surveys, contest forms or anything else like that on this computer. I also constantly clean up the temp files, history, downloads and all other typical places that excess files go. Even with all that...somehow....somebody was taking up 600mb of my HD space. Just a little warning in case any of you want to look into this on your computer.

Anyway, the server should run much better now and we have much more latitude to try out a few things here and there. - Jazzman-X-[11:10 am EST]

Daily Jazz...
Yes, I am still alive. I have been real busy the last few days and had no time to make updates. Should start seeing more in the next few days. - Jazzman-X-[11:10 am EST]

Font Wanted!!
Wanted: A font that looks like someone wrote it with a sorry ass paint brush, sorta like the Lucent Tecnologies red circle logo thing.  Will pay you a piece of belly button lint and a stick of chewed gum for it..Or if you have another cool font, like some that I have already found..for example the one called GroupSex... I'll just let you imagination figure that one out..Any way if the font is under 100K email  it to me..Your help is greatly unappreciated..hehe

PS Please send all emails to me at freezer@iline.com, do not send any more mail to the naplesnet account..I may never see it..Thanks -

The Matrix
ZapMan and I went and saw The Matrix last night.  Excellent movie.  The plot was far from original, very similar to the Dark City theme.  But the differences between them were very good and the special effects were awesome.  It is my personal belief that the movie producers recently acquired a new supercomputer that allows them to keep track of millions of flying debris objects at the same time, and they said "Hmmm, let's build a movie around this."  It was rather amusing to watch Keanu Reeves doing several scenes of Kung Fu fighting, mainly because he's never done anything like it before. But he did it very well, and the fight scenes along with the shootout scenes were very cool.  It was a little long, and dragged a little bit in the middle, but they did so to avoid the end of the movie confusion that came with watching Dark City for the first time.  At the end of DC, you have to sit there for a few minutes thinking "Man that was weird... what exactly happened again?"  The Matrix slowly explains things throughout the movie so that while watching the kick ass fight scenes, you're not distracted by trying to figure out why they're fighting in the first place.

There are some very cool scenes and the movie as a whole was good too.  A little strange, but I give it a big Shotgun Up.  Go see it foo!  And remember: "There is no spoon."

"MS-LINUX"<---WTF!!?...
Yet again more proof that Microsux should take a good look at my HandCannon.  With the recent success of Linux and the growing popularity of distributors like RedHat and Caldera, Microsoft is now going to try and fetch the market away.  Microsoft released an announcement about an "Enterprise MS-Linux" version that implemented Win32s API function calls.   Here I present some more evidence of the overbearing dominating nature of Microsoft and its demon child Windows.  Let me quote a section out of my Visual C++ manual:

"With Windows, it's all very different.   Here, your program is subservient and Windows is in control.  You must not deal directly with the hardware, and all communications with the outside world must pass through Windows.  When you use a Windows program, you are interacting primarily with Windows, which then communicates with the application on your behalf.  Your Windows program is the tail,  Windows is the dog, and your program wags only when Windows tells it to." - Introduction to Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 p.49

To relate all this to quake.  Our once stable and fast Quake servers running on Linux will have a %30 drop in number of users they can handle, and less reliable up time than the WC CTF server!.  Well anyway, good luck Linux, stand your ground! - AntiMatter-[6:50 pm EST]

Daily Jazz...
Ahhh my column returns....hehe. Anyway last night I went back and played a little Half-Life single player again. I had gotten a little over half way when I quit before. So I decided to go back and try to get closer to the end. I got through like 2 more sections and I think I only have a few more to go. I think there is 18 episodes in Half-Life and I am on the 13th one. Anyway, I do have to say that the single player experience in Half-Life is very cool.

It makes you think and pay attention to your surroundings much more than most other FPS games. Last night I had to get through a section by pushing a crate under a blast shield plate (keeping it from lowering properly) so that I could activate a laser to blow a hole through a wall in order to proceed. This is the kind of thing that after you figure it out makes the game extremely enjoyable and is quite different than just shooting everything that moves and find a key like most FPS. Anyway, I know the game has been out for a while now but it is still a kickass game if some of you have not tried it yet. I am kind of glad I went back to try and finish it now. - Jazzman-X-[2:10 pm EST]

CLQ is screwed
In case a few of you have not noticed CLQ had some major database crash and lost a bunch of data from this weeks statistics. The only one we were really paying attention to was the minutes. Well now every one was reset basically. For instance I saw before this happen that CyRiS already had like close to 1100 minutes, he now has like 200. FRaG GoD had well over 500 and now he is around 130. I mean everyone that played in the match on Tuesday had at least 180 minutes or so from that. Many people that were there do not even have over 100 minutes! Oh, well the one time I try to pay attention to CLQ for something and it screws it all up, hehe. - Jazzman-X-[2:10 pm EST]

*** LAN BLAST 3.... tentative date set!!!
Ok....this is not set in stone but.....we have a date for LAN BLAST 3. Right now it will be on July 16th-17th. That is a Friday and Saturday. The deal is on this one is we are making it longer. We are gonna start around 8pm on Friday night and go through until midnight on Saturday. That is like 28 hours of Fragging!!! We plan to break in the early AM of Saturday to all go eat or something. This will be a true marathon of gaming. We are getting a place big enough so you can nap in the corner if your little eyes get tired of getting gouged out by your monitor.

We have a ton of details to still work out. It will be in either Naples or Fort Myers. Right now we have a great line on a place in Naples but it is not 100% confirmed yet. Anyway.....everyone mark these dates in blood on every calendar at work and home.

Check with your wives, girl friends, boy friends, boss, mom, dad, dog, goldfish and every other damn person you can think of. If you have some major problem with this date let me know ASAP. If I have no major complaints in 2 weeks it will be called official. Let me say we looked at every thing from June 1 - July 31 and this was the best weekend we could find due to many reasons. Anyway...everyone respond letting me know if this date is cool with you. - Jazzman-X-[late am EST]
