Clarification and more LB3 comments...
I guess I need to just say a few more things. I am
sorry if a put a negative spin in any way on the whole LB3 event. It was in no way bad.
LB3 was in my opinion an awesome event and I think everyone had a good time. We did have a
few minor problems but with an event like this that cannot be avoided.
After talking to several people I think we have all
come to the conclusion that the biggest factor that caused any small problems was the time
schedule of the event. It was a major mistake starting it so late on a Friday (although it
did sound cool when we planned it) and then going through the night like we did. It made
all the events get out of whack and people were tired and irritable from not getting more
than 3-4 hours sleep on Friday night. I think that like 98% of any problems that happened
at LB3 were because of this fact. People were just tired and cranky.
We fully intend to change that for LB4. It will most
likely be a 2 day event. Start early on a Saturday. Then stop around 11pm. Then start up
again around 10am on Sunday and go through until like 6pm. This will enable everyone to be
fully rested each day for everything going on. Including the administrators who really
need to be the most rested of all to keep things moving and organized.
Everyone please fill out Freezers form so we can get
even more feedback to make LB4 better. We have learned a lot at each LB event so they
should just keep getting bigger and better. Please give us any suggestions you have on
that form so you can have an even better time at LB4.
I really hope all the guys who made it to LB3 can
make it back for LB4. It was great hanging out with all of you and I hope you can become
regular attendees of the event. We spread them out enough that hopefully you guys out of
town can make it again. Look forward to seeing you then. - Jazzman-X [10:25

LB3 Notes By ZapMan
I had a great time at LB3 and I thought
everything went well. Everyone that showed up with an open attitude and a willingness to
meet new people also had a great time, I think. The most important thing about LB3, as
Gator said while we were there, is the simple BS'ing and hanging out with other players,
nothing else.
Some of you at LB3 saw me making notes on my Linux
box. Here's the text file. I took all
these notes from the perspective of an admin, so a lot of it may be boring for everyone
else. Remember, the best way to voice your opinions of LB3 is to fill out Freezer's survey
form below. In fact, I suggest you do that first, before you read my comments, just in
case you're a young impressionable one. :) - ZapMan -[3:58pm EST]
LB3 Survey
The Survey is
up. The purpose of this survey is to help plan LB4 with your comments and
answers. I need ALL ATTENDEES to answer this survey with the utmost of honesty as
this is serious business around here. We don't plan these things for months to have
sorry events. Please go and fill it out, remember, BE HONEST. Your most honest
of answers will help plan LB4 so if you are not honest we will definitely have something
all screwed up. This is only for people who ATTENDED LB3, NO ONE else should fill
this survey out. It may be a bit lengthy but please answer all the questions.
Thanks. - Freezer -[10:36pm

Q3 Test Server List
I have added a Q3 Test Server list (a small one) to the site. I
did not add 50 million servers to the list I added ones that are heavy traffic servers and
a 1 on 1 tourney server. If you all don't like it or have a problem with it let me
know, otherwise frag on and yes maybe you too can feel the wrath of the reigning Q3
Tourney Champ Freezer if you feel you're good enough.. - Freezer -[5:53pm EST]
LB3 demos needed
If anyone recorded demos of games played during LB3,
please send me an email or ICQ message and let me know what you have. I only have a
demo of the AQ final match, and we'd like to get as many of them up as we can for people
who missed them. We'll put up demos of the regular games, but we'd particularly like
to have as many of the actual matches available as possible.

Addicted to TFC.
It is all Freezers fault! Hehe, he put that damn
Half-Life- Team Fortress Classic on my computer at LB3 and now I cannot stop playing it.
The mod is serious fun. The last 2 nights I have been on playing with Freezer and Myth who
also has it up and working. We all 3 played together last night for like 3 hours. It is a
lot of fun. I think just about everyone in our clan would like it. It has the elements of
CTF (flags to cap, rocket launchers) in it along with even elements of AQ2 (sniper rifles,
grenades).
Any of you that have Half-Life should try it out. We
have been playing on this one server quite a bit. It is a server run by Media-One I think.
It is called something like "NaplesHSD TFC Server". Freezer can correct me if I
have it wrong. Some of the maps and missions are very cool. The kill the prez one is very
fun.
The other great thing about TFC is you can basically
have a good time and be successful regardless of how shitty a connection to the internet
you have. If you have bad lag from time to time you can still play as a medic or engineer
and have a great time and help your team. The engineer is a lot of fun and me and Freezer
have been perfecting our skill at it the last 2 days.
Anyway....as you can see I am addicted and now want
TF2 to come out even more. I really hope some of you will hook up with me, Freezer and
Myth on the TFC servers. Hope to see you all there. - Jazzman-X [10:25

LB3 - The Good
It was an awesome time. I think overall everyone had a
good time and it went over real well. We had some of the most intense tournaments I have
ever been involved with and we also had a real good group of guys that I think all got
along real good. I definitely think it was a huge success. I hope everyone is able to make
it back for the next one. Once again I would like to thank everyone for coming and helping
to make LB3 such a great time.
We should have some pictures up real soon. - Jazzman-X

LB3 - The Bad
I do not think this is really bad but I did want to
inform everyone of it. I have decided for several reasons not to act in the capacity I
have in the next LAN BLAST event. All this means is that I will not act as a head
organizer for LB4.
My reasons for this are many but I will try to
explain best I can so no wrong impressions are made. Basically I have decided this based
on numerous criticisms, complaints and somewhat snide remarks made towards some of my
decisions made at LB3. These were from numerous people. I also really feel based on lack
of comments or compliments (disregard Skube and Biff) on things we did that people overall
felt things should have been run differently in regards to some items.
I am not saying I am mad or even that I did
not have a good time. I am not sore at anyone. I fully intend to be at LB4 but I do not
intend to act as a head organizer. I will be just an assistant administrator and help the
other guys to get things done and organized. I just do not intend to act as the guy making
any major decisions on things like I did this time.
Again I want to stress I am not mad at anyone.
I had a great time at LB3 and I really think everyone else did as well. I just think maybe
someone else needs to head up the next event. I have taken a large role in decision making
at the last couple LB events and perhaps now there needs to be some new ideas. Perhaps one
of the last events main administrators will step up and take over. I will gladly help them
however I can. But I will not act in the role I have at the last 2 events unless for some
reason my decision seriously jeopardizes the continuing of LB. I do not think this will be
the case though. - Jazzman-X [10:25 am EST]

Freezer on LB3
WOW I am awake and still want to sleep some more,
and its almost 7:00pm hehe. Seriously I woke up at 2:00pm today and after installing
the important files back on my machine and setting it up I decided I'll let you all know
that LB3 was a great success. For all of you who didn't come or couldn't make it you
missed one hell of a good time and probably the most exciting CTF, and Quake 3 matches
ever. Sorry no one took demos, or at least I don't think they did. Look
forward to the announcement of where you can view the pictures taken at the event.
One last order of business is this, we were left with only 3 of the Official LB3 shirts.
If you are interested in snagging up one of these items please email me.
These are on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVE basis so if you want to buy one, you better hurry as
I expect they won't be extras long. - Freezer -[9:53pm EST]

something?" |
"The bomb has been armed sir..."
It is just about detonation time on LB3. Our meeting
went real well and everything is looking real good. I think everyone is gonna have a great
time. I just talked to Gator on the phone a few minutes ago and understand that Hirudin
and Oblique are already here. May get to meet them a little later on.
I just had my last big meeting with a client today
so now I just have to cruise through the next couple days doing the normal work stuff
until it is time to go tear shit up with the rest of the LB3 people. For those of you not
coming be assured we will take lots of pictures so you can all see what happen and that
way you will be looking forward to coming to LB4 even more. Was that slightly.....evil? - Jazzman-X

LB3...LB3....LB3...
It is getting close to a drunken frenzy now the way
people are getting hyped up. Anyway...we had one more addition today to the people coming.
SB-Viper will be making an appearance at LB3. He is one of the old original members and it
will be great to see him.
Here in about an hour I am going to go meet with
FRaG GoD, Zapman, Freezer and Gator at the LB3 site. We are gonna do a last minute look
over of the place and map out some of the set up. It is really getting close. - Jazzman-X
