Institute for Molecular Medicine, University of California San DiegoThe hosts of the Days of Molecular Medicine Scientific Symposium at The Salk Institute and the University of California San Diego's Institute of Molecular Medicine, along with the cosponsor Nature Medicine, realized that a fast-approaching advertising campaign deadline would be much better served with a web site redesign and an automatic online registration, award nomination, and scientific abstract submission process. NeoReality programmed the user registration code under the Japanese sub-site in 2000 when Nature reported 30-second login delays based on legacy database lookups. NeoReality's recoded user registration and login system in the form of custom Perl handlers for Apache using mod_perl for fast response time took that delay down to just 1 second for the same functionality. |
